Can my existing cameras be upgraded with AI analytics?
Some existing camera systems can support AI analytics through compatible software, recording platforms, or additional processing equipment. Reusing cameras may be possible, but compatibility must be checked before equipment or service is selected.

What PGC reviews
- Equipment: camera and recorder models, software versions, and the video connections available to the proposed platform.
- Image usefulness: camera position, field of view, lighting, obstructions, and whether the activity of interest is visible.
- Infrastructure: network connectivity, available bandwidth, power, and processing or recording requirements.
- Desired results: person or vehicle detection, after-hours alerts, loitering events, video search, or other supported functions.
- Operations: who receives alerts, how events are reviewed, and what action should follow.
What may be reusable
Depending on condition and compatibility, some cameras, cabling, network equipment, or recording infrastructure may remain in service. Other components may need repair, repositioning, replacement, or an added license. An AI upgrade does not automatically make every existing camera suitable for every use case.
Set realistic expectations
Analytics can help identify relevant activity and make review more efficient. Results depend on the selected technology, installation, configuration, and conditions. Detection is not guaranteed, and alerts need a defined review and response process.
Request a compatibility review
Share your camera and recorder models, approximate device count, property type, and two or three priority use cases. Request an existing-system review. Do not send system passwords or publish video access links.
